3 Days & 4 Days Miri & Niah or Mulu Experience

Sitting at the northwest coastline of Borneo, bordering Brunei, Miri is the second largest city of the Malaysian state of Sarawak, with a population of over 230,000.

Once a tiny fishing village, the discovery in 1910 of an oil field quickly turned Miri into one of Malaysia’s most important cities. Visiting the petroleum industry-related sites such as the Grand Old Lady and the Petroleum Museum are among some of the best Miri Malaysia things to do for visitors to understand the distinguished history of this city.

Gua Niah (Gua means cave), located in the Niah National Park, is an archaeological and natural wonder. It was recently nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its evidence of continuous human occupation and early human fossils.

Mulu National Park, one of the most breathtaking natural wonders in Malaysia. Nestled in the heart of Borneo, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is a haven for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and wildlife enthusiasts. With its stunning limestone karst formations, vibrant rainforests, and diverse ecosystems, Mulu National Park offers a truly unparalleled experience.

3Days 2Nights Miri & Niah Cave Exploration

Meet and greet at Miri Airport. Begin tour with visiting The Grand Old Lady (Malaysia’s 1st oil well) located at Canada Hill, Tamu Muhibbah (Local native market selling local made products), Miri City Hall (building resembles an oil barrel) and Coco Cabana (beautiful sunset view), then to local
restaurant for dinner. Transfer to hotel.

After breakfast, begin journey to Niah approximately 1.5 hours drive from Miri city. Registration at the Niah National Park Headquarters and proceed on plank walk for 3km through the tropical rainforest to the caves. The whole cave system includes the Great cave, Painted cave and Trader’s cave. The
park’s main claim is the oldest modern human remains in Southeast Asia was discovered here. Niah is also famous for its edible bird nest found high-up in the cave. Proceed back to headquarters for lunch before departing back to Miri. Visit Local Handicraft & Souvenir Centre for some local handmade goods. After dinner, transfer back to hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to Miri Airport for flight departure.

4Days 3Nights Miri and Mulu Cave Exploration

Meet and greet at Miri Airport. Begin tour with visiting The Grand Old Lady (Malaysia’s 1st oil well) located at Canada Hill, Tamu Muhibbah (Local native market selling local made products), Miri City Hall (building resembles an oil barrel) and Coco Cabana (beautiful sunset view), then to local restaurant for dinner. Transfer to hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to Miri Airport for flight to Mulu. Upon arrival, transfer to Mulu Marriott Resort for check in. Meet up at hotel lobby and transfer to Mulu National Park Headquarters for registration and proceed on plank walk for 3km to reach Lang Cave and Deer Cave. After exploring the caves, proceed to bats observatory area to observe bats flying out of the caves entrance during late evening (subject to weather). Return journey on the same plank walk to the park headquarters. Proceed back to hotel for dinner.

After breakfast, transfer by longboat to Batu Bungan—a Penan settlement, to observe the tribal lifestyle and to select handicrafts that are for sale on display at the settlement. Continue on the journey by longboat to Wind Cave and Clearwater Cave. Picnic lunch will be served at Clearwater Summer Huts. You can even enjoy a swim at Clearwater Pond. Return transfer by longboat to Park headquarters. Free and easy in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, free and easy until check out and transfer to Mulu Airport for flight back to Miri. Upon arrival in Miri, transfer to lunch at local restaurant. After lunch, visit Miri’s Tua Pek Kong Temple, dedicated to the deity most beloved by local Chinese, Local Handicraft & Souvenir Centre. Transfer to Miri Airport for flight departure.

4Days 3Nights Mulu Caves Pinnacles

Meet & greet by our guide at Mulu airport on arrival and transfer to accommodation for check in. Afternoon, meet at hotel lobby and depart to Mulu National Park HQ for registration. Begin trekking for 3km plank walk to the Deer and Lang Caves. Late afternoon, observe millions of bats flying out
from the vast of the Deer Cave which will be a memorable occurrence only during the fine Weather. Trekking the same plank walk to Park Headquarters and back to your accommodation for overnight.

After breakfast at hotel and check-out, depart by longboat to Wind Cave, and then proceed by plank walk for 10 minutes to Clearwater Cave. Buffet picnic lunch will be served at the Clearwater Summer Hut. Continue the journey with longboat for 1 ½ hours boat trip along the Melinau River to Kuala Berar
or Kuala Litut. If the water level is low, the boat has to be pushed over shallow sections so the trip will takes longer. Trekking for 3-4 hours through the primary rainforest to Camp 5 is a relatively easy 7.8km from Kuala Berar or Kuala Litut. The Melinau River in front of Camp 5 is crystal clear and ideal for swim after the trek. Dinner and overnight at Camp 5.

Have an early breakfast before you start your journey by climbing Gunung Api for three (3) hours to reach Pinnacles. Gunung Api steep slopes make the climb more challenging, filled with fun and excitement. The viewpoint area is made up of a number of pinnacles, rocks and vegetation and has
excellent views of the silver-gray forest of stone that rises up from the surrounding vegetation. Packed lunch will be served at the peak. Descent back to Camp 5, Dinner and overnight at Camp 5.

After an early breakfast, start trekking back to Kuala Berar or Kuala Litut for the boat ride to Clearwater Cave. Take a swim in the Clearwater Pool and have a picnic lunch at Clearwater Summer’s Hut before the transfer to Mulu airport for your flight.
