After hotel check out, transfer to airport for domestic flight to Ushaia.
Welcome to Ushuaia, Argentina, the southernmost city in the world. Discover the vibrant life of this Patagonian city or enjoy a refreshing hike in the nearby forests. For those seeking adventure, consider a day trip to the unspoiled wilderness of Tierra del Fuego. This island is a hiker’s dream, boasting rugged, snow-capped mountains, glaciers, meadows filled with flowers, and rich wetlands.

03 JAN 2025:
In the afternoon, you will board the vessel, ready to embark on the journey. After completing the mandatory safety drill, the expedition begins as you navigate the calm waters of the Beagle Channel, named after Charles Darwin’s ship.
This channel, flanked by cliffs, separates southern Tierra del Fuego between Chile and Argentina and has served as the starting point for countless explorations into the unknown.
Keep an eye out for whales and dolphins as you venture into the tumultuous Drake Passage.
04 JAN 2025 & 05 JAN 2025:
As you sail through the renowned Drake Passage, which links Patagonia to the Antarctic Peninsula, prepare for its notoriously turbulent waters and fierce westerly winds, aptly named the Roaring Fifties.
Fortunately, the purpose-built expedition vessels ensure a comfortable journey, equipped with uniquely stable X-Bow technology and powerful engines, all guided by an expert crew.
Embrace this thrilling crossing, often considered a badge of honor by seasoned sailors, as you traverse it twice during the expedition.
In the Drake Passage, the focus shifts to preparing for arrival in Antarctica. The Expedition Leader will provide thorough safety briefings and guidelines to minimize impact on this pristine environment.
The dedicated Expedition Team will assist in biosecuring your gear and offer tailored lectures on Antarctic exploration, wildlife, and more.

06 JAN 2025:
On the sixth day, you’ll journey further south along the Antarctic Peninsula, entering the Gerlache Strait region.
This icy expanse requires careful navigation by the Expedition Leader and Captain, who will chart a route to explore various sites showcasing the area’s stunning natural beauty.
The Gerlache Strait, known for its ‘spine’ of the Antarctic Peninsula and numerous mountainous glaciated islands, offers a wealth of iconic Antarctic experiences.

07 JAN 2025:
The seventh day promises awe-inspiring encounters as you explore the diverse offerings of the Gerlache Strait. Enjoy Zodiac cruises in Paradise Bay, where towering icebergs and tranquil waters create a mesmerizing landscape. Visit Cuverville Island to witness penguins nesting in their natural habitat.
Each stop provides unique opportunities to immerse yourself in the region’s natural wonders.

08 JAN 2025:
On the eighth day, your exploration continues with visits to historic huts at Damoy Point, where remnants of past expeditions tell tales of Antarctic history.
In Wilhelmina Bay, keep an eye out for humpback whales feasting on krill, a sight that never fails to captivate. Marvel at the stunning scenery of the Lemaire Channel, often referred to as the ‘Kodak Gap’ for its breathtaking views.
Throughout these days, the Expedition Leader will provide nightly briefings, ensuring you are well informed about plans and any necessary adaptations due to weather and ice conditions.
When not off the vessel exploring, enjoy enriching onboard experiences such as lectures, recaps, spa treatments, or simply relaxing in one of the comfortable lounges, soaking in the majestic beauty of Antarctica.

09 JAN 2025:
On the ninth day, your Antarctic odyssey reaches its zenith amidst the rugged beauty of the South Shetland Islands. As the northernmost tip of Antarctica, this archipelago stands resilient against the relentless Southern Ocean. Despite the harsh conditions, the islands are teeming with wildlife, including numerous colonies of Gentoo and Chinstrap Penguins, alongside formidable seabirds like the predatory Giant Petrels.
Explore the ice-capped peaks of Livingstone, Greenwich, and King George Islands, which provide a stunning backdrop for your adventures. Experience the eerie landscape of Deception Island, an active volcanic crater with black steaming sands and rusting ruins. Visit bustling penguin colonies on Aitcho and Half Moon Islands, or delve into the history of Yankee Harbour, once a crucial anchorage for sealers.
As you bid farewell to the South Shetland Islands, you carry with you memories of their stark beauty and abundant wildlife, marking a fitting conclusion to your extraordinary Antarctic expedition.

As you depart Antarctica, the journey continues northward across the infamous Drake Passage. This day at sea offers a chance to relax and reflect on your incredible experiences.
Onboard activities will be arranged to enhance your voyage.
Enjoy the view, share stories with newfound friends, or attend insightful lectures, where the Expedition Team will share their knowledge and passion for Antarctica.
Meanwhile, watch the albatrosses gracefully follow the ship, offering a final connection to the Southern Ocean.

11 JAN 2025:
On the eleventh day, you continue your voyage across the Drake Passage towards the more welcoming shores of the Beagle Channel and Ushuaia, Argentina. The day at sea provides additional time to unwind and absorb the journey’s experiences.
In the evening, join the Captain and Officers for a Farewell Party, a chance to celebrate the adventure and bid farewell to your fellow travelers.
The event includes a presentation of photos and videos by the onboard photographer, allowing you to relive and cherish the memories of your Antarctic expedition.

12 JAN 2025:
On the morning of the final day of your voyage, the ship will dock at the pier in Ushuaia, Argentina. The sight of trees, grass, and the bustling city may feel surreal after your time in the white wilderness of Antarctica.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast, it’s time to bid farewell to the crew and the Albatros Expedition Team. As you descend the gangway and step back onto dry land, you’ll carry with you memories of a truly unforgettable journey.
Transfer to airport for domestic flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival, proceed to hotel and free at leisure.
